While most of you are
aware of the effects that your chiropractic adjustments have on your
aches and pains, did you know research indicates that adjustments may
slow down the aging process? Here are some of the markers of aging that
are affected by chiropractic adjustments:
1. MUSCULAR CONTROL & BALANCE
Many patients have reported improved muscular control and improved
balance after chiropractic adjustments. Thus, gait improves, reducing
the risk of falls. Better athletic performance follows, too.
2. INCREASE VITALITY
Using the Global Well-Being Scale (GWBS), most people register an
improvement following chiropractic adjustments, indicating a more
"youthful" energy level.
3. INCREASED BREATHING
CAPACITY
Loss of breathing capacity is an established marker of aging.
Researchers have found in two studies that breathing capacity increases
with chiropractic adjustments, thus supplying more oxygen to the tissues
and by doing so, slowing the aging process.
4. ABILITY TO RESIST DNA
DAMAGE
In 2005, an international team of researchers, investigated the ability
of a person's DNA to resist damage and to repair itself while that
person is under chiropractic care. By measuring blood samples research
has indicated that persons under chiropractic care had higher DNA
protection and repair efficiency.
To be clear, we do not
offer a magical formula for youth. But, the rejuvenating effects of the
chiropractic adjustment can be measured. If you are not already doing
so, please consider scheduling regular chiropractic check-ups, even if
you are pain free. |
